Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your email.

We refer to your slow connection issue, we would like to advise you to proceed with some basic troubleshooting, in order for us to streamline the issue that you are facing currently.

1) Bypass splitter/micro filter/fax machine/lightning protector.

2) Stand alone connection, from wall socket to modem (No parallel line).

3) Flush DNS (Domain Name Server)
a) For Win 98/ME:
- Click Start button, go to run
- Type "winipcfg" and then click OK
- Select your network card name from the adapter drop-down menu
- Click on Release button
- The IP address should display 0.0.0.0. Then click Renew All
- Click OK to close the window

b) For Win XP/2000:
- Click on Start button, go to run
- Type "command", click OK
- Type in "ipconfig /flushdns", then press Enter
- Make sure the result is "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache"
- Type "exit" and press Enter to close the window screen

4) Switch off the modem, unplug and re-plug all cables, wait for 5 to 10 minutes before
switching on the modem.

5) Create new dialer (For Windows XP)
- Click Start button and go to Control Panel
- In Control Panel, double-click on Network and Internet Connections or Internet
Options
- Click the Connections
- Click Setup
- Click Next button
- Please tick at Connect to the Internet
- Please select at Set up my connection manually
- On the next, please select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a
username and password
- ISP Name type Streamyx
- On the next window please enter your user name, tick "Use this account name and
password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer" and "Make this
the default Internet connection"
Note: For "Password" and "Confirm Password" column, please leave it blank
- Click Finish

6) Configure DNS (Domain Name Server) (For Windows XP)
- Click on Start button and click Control Panel
- In Control Panel, double click Network Connections
- Right-click the Streamyx broadband dialer and select Properties
- Then click on Networking
- In This connection uses the following items, high light Internet Protocol TCP/IP, then
click Properties
- In General, tick Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Use the Following DNS
Server Addresses
(Prefered DNS Server: 202.188.0.133/Alternate DNS Server: 202.188.1.5)

7) Clear Temporary Files, Delete Cookies and Delete Files under Internet Options.

8) Clear SSL Certificates (Internet Option).
- Click on "Tools".
- Select "Internet Options".
- Click on "Content" tab.
- Click on "Clear SSL State".

9) Restore default browser settings.
- Click on "Tools".
- Select "Internet Options".
- Select "Advanced".
- Click on "Restore Defaults".

10) Temporarily disable firewall settings.

11) Perform Windows scan.

12) Temporarily disable antivirus software.

13) Disable P2P application.

14) Reboot computer and the modem.

15) Do a bandwidth test from our website as follows:
(http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/)
However, if the result is below 80% of the required speed, please reply us by attaching the result in kbits.

Please note that there are various factors that might contribute to the slowness and intermittent of your Internet connection. These factors might be one of the following:

1. Congestion in connection
2. The level of phone line quality
3. Fiber-optic phone lines (speed will likely be at maximum speed of 30kbps or below)
4. Modem not functioning properly
5. The computer has viruses
